In January 1988, our founder, Ken Smith Jr., turned that dream into reality. Armed with years of education and HVAC expertise, Ken took a bold leap of faith, starting his company from the spare bedroom of his home.
With tenacity and dedication, Ken personally walked door-to-door, seeking customers in need of reliable repair and maintenance services. His hard work paid off, and as his reputation for trustworthy service grew, so did his company. In those early years, Ken’s father, Ken Smith Sr., joined him, bringing his own HVAC expertise to the team and deepening the company’s family roots.
Within six years, the business outgrew the basement office that Ken had relocated to and moved into a dedicated property. This expansion allowed us to better serve our customers and manage our growing operations. Years later, Ken’s son, Jeremy, joined the company at the age of 18, working his way up from technician to Vice President, continuing the legacy of hard work and family values that defines K.W. Smith & Son.
Today, K.W. Smith & Son has evolved from a one-man operation into a thriving family business with 15 full-time employees. Headquartered in Manassas Park, Virginia, we proudly serve the Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. region, offering the same dependable service that Ken envisioned when he started the company.
